About this section

The Students Section’s purpose is to provide the opportunity for enthusiastic medical, dental and veterinary students from across the country to meet and share experiences, opinions, activities and opportunities to learn and develop their future careers.

Access schemes across the UK

The Royal Society of Medicine's Student Section has created this booklet containing information on multiple widening access programmes across the UK, with the aim of helping applicants from a wide range of backgrounds apply for medicine. Download the booklet

Student-led events and webinars

You are invited to attend six new external webinar series covering a broad range of topics.

 

    • The EDI Webinar Series aims to explore current issues surrounding equality, diversity, and inclusion in medicine, featuring speakers who address relevant challenges and strategies for overcoming them.
    • The Digital Health Hackathon empowers medical students to innovate through collaboration, problem-solving, and entrepreneurial thinking to develop digital health solutions, providing a supportive environment for pitching ideas.
    • The Leadership and Entrepreneurship Webinar Series educates medical students on essential skills for leading organizations and developing entrepreneurial ventures, inspiring them to pursue careers in business leadership and fostering discussions on the importance of leadership and enterprise in modern healthcare.
    • The Beyond Medicine Webinar Series aims to inspire medical students to explore non-traditional career paths beyond clinical medicine and provides networking opportunities with successful medical professionals in such fields.
    • The MLA Webinar Series aims to prepare clinical year medical students for UKMLA exams by providing clinical theoretical knowledge delivered by GCM-registered consultants and specialty registrars
    • The Hot Topics x Letter to the Editor Competition Series enables participants to critically analyse research papers, articulate findings through letters to the editor, and increase awareness of prevalent healthcare topics.
