The Respiratory Medicine Section’s purpose is to promote knowledge and understanding of respiratory medicine.

Section meetings and conferences are usually organised by members of the Section Council, led by the Section President and often in collaboration with specialist societies.

Registrar Award

Submission deadline: Monday 3 February 2025

Open to: ST3 and above who have received all or part of their training in the UK. Registrars from any specialty may apply. Applicants need to have been a Specialist Registrar when the project was undertaken (including IMT3 year)

Prize: £100 and free attendance to the RSM Respiratory Careers Day on Monday 12 May 2025

Foundation Year and Senior House Officer Award

Submission deadline: Monday 3 February 2025

Open to: Junior doctors currently in foundation training or SHO level in the UK (IMT trainees, JCF, trust-grade SHO). Applicants need to have been a Foundation Year doctor or Senior House Officer (e.g. IMT1/2, Trust Grade SHO, F3) when the project was undertaken, and need to be the first author of the abstract.
