About this section
The Paediatrics & Child Health Section’s purpose is to facilitate the study of children in both health and disease and to enable professionals to come together in a friendly learning environment. The Section also holds in conjunction with the London School of Paediatrics regular meetings aimed at trainees.
Monthly training days for ST4&5 trainees
These days are based on the RCPCH curriculum and provide an opportunity to hear from experts respected within their fields, based on a monthly topic, e.g. gastroenterology.
Leadership, Management and Education (LME) evenings
These interactive sessions, based on the Medical Leadership Competency Framework and the RCPCH Competencies, follow on from the monthly clinical training days, and are overseen by Dr Bob Klaber, Consultant Paediatrician and Educationalist based at Imperial College, London.
The sessions are designed for all paediatric trainees looking to develop their skills in leadership, management, quality improvement and education.
Section Council members
Section meetings and conferences are usually organised by members of the Section Council, led by the Section President and often in collaboration with specialist societies.
