The purpose of the Dermatology Section is to provide educational events to share knowledge and experience on the management of complex dermatological cases.

Please note: Please note: This offer is open to SPRs with a training number, clinical specialists and CESR trainees (with a letter of support from their educational supervisor), and 1st and 2nd year newly qualified consultants. Trainees can apply for this funding two times, consultants can apply for this funding once.

Section meetings and conferences are usually organised by members of the Section Council, led by the Section President and often in collaboration with specialist societies.

To attend a dermatology event, you need to have:
Full membership:
- Being a Consultant Dermatologist on the Specialist Register for Dermatology in the UK and Ireland OR
- By sponsorship of two members of the Dermatology Section for significant contributions to and good standing in dermatology and the profession
Associate membership:
- Holding a substantive approved post in Dermatology in the UK supported by two Consultant Dermatologist Members of the RSM OR
- Having a registrar training post in dermatology (trainee member) Associate members need to reapply every four years.
RSM members who are part of the American Board of Dermatology are also eligible to attend dermatology events.

Dermatology Section: Trainee Research Prize
Deadline: Thursday 17 April 2025
Open to: All dermatology trainees in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Newly qualified consultants whose research was completed as a trainee in the previous year are also eligible.
Dermatology Section: Hugh Wallace Essay Prize
Deadline: Thursday 24 April 2025
Open to: Applications are invited from Dermatology registrars who have has a paper published by registrar in a peer reviewed journal in the last 12 months.
