"May 2025 marked 220 years since the RSM was first established as the Medical and Chirurgical Society of London. It began with the founding principles of being a society that “unites physicians and surgeons under one organisation to benefit from shared knowledge” and went on to become one of the largest medical societies in Britain with a focus on the advancement of medicine. The future of the RSM needs to build on its prestigious past, benefiting from the extensive networks we’ve created through our membership, while continuing to focus on new innovative developments in healthcare for the benefits of patients.
