JRSM Open to receive Impact Factor

We are pleased to share that JRSM Open, the open access companion journal to the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine (JRSM), has been provisionally accepted for inclusion in the Web of Science. This significant milestone means that the journal will receive an Immediacy Index in 2026 and its first Journal Impact Factor (JIF) in 2027.

This development marks an exciting moment for the RSM’s peer-reviewed journals. It reflects the growing reputation of JRSM Open, which will join the subscription-based Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine (JRSM) in the Clarivate rankings once the evaluation period has concluded in 2027. JRSM has a JIF of 10.3 and a 5 year impact factor of 14.6, and is ranked 12 out of the world’s 332 general medical journals in Clarivate’s Journal Citation Reports.

The success of both journals is testament to the dedication and vision of the editorial team, led by Professor Kamran Abbasi. With JRSM Open’s profile on the rise, there’s no better time for RSM members to submit their work and benefit from member discounts on the highly competitive article processing fee (APC).
