This Trustees' Week we’re shining a light on the vital role our Trustees play in the life and leadership of the RSM, bringing a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to transforming the future of healthcare.
As a registered UK charity, we are governed by a group of volunteer Trustees who, together, form the RSM Council - providing strategic oversight and ensuring accountability for the organisation. Collectively, Trustees are responsible for the RSM's financial, legal and business operations, collaborating closely with the Executive Team to enable us to deliver our goals.
Their energy and leadership ensure that the RSM continues to serve our members and the wider healthcare community and we're grateful for their generous support, expertise and guidance.
Here’s what a few of them had to say about what being part of the RSM means to them 👇
Professor Gillian Leng CBE, RSM President: “The RSM’s strength lies in its people — our members, staff and volunteers. As President, I chair the Council and help shape strategic opportunities for learning and connection that truly support healthcare professionals to improve patient care.”
Professor Paul O’Flynn, Trustee and Vice-President of RSM Council: “The RSM has always been about sharing knowledge and inspiring excellence in medicine. As a Trustee, I see my role as ensuring that spirit continues to thrive for generations of clinicians to come.”
Professor Maggie Rae, Trustee and Vice-President of RSM Council: “Public health is about people, and so is the RSM. It’s a privilege to help steer an organisation that brings together different parts of the healthcare community to learn from one another and make real impact.”
Together with our members, our Trustees help us advance healthcare education and innovation – and we thank them all for their dedication. Learn more about our Trustees and their work here.
