Monday 9 May: webinar 2.00pm to 6.00pm

This event will look at the progress health and care organisations have made in rising to the challenge of cybersecurity since the 2017 WannaCry ransomware attack, which infiltrated vulnerable NHS systems throughout the country and had a direct impact on patient care. It is being held in collaboration with the Institute for Security Science and Technology.

Monday 9 May: webinar 7.00pm to 8.40pm

Forensic odontologist Dr Jayanie Weeratna, of the Institute of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology in Sri Lanka, will demonstrate how the skills and knowledge of a dentist are used in forensic dentistry and how dental knowledge is used in unique ways to piece together investigative cases.

Wednesday 11 May: in person 8.20am to 4.50pm

National and international experts in their fields will gather at this meeting to explore the big known unknowns of sleep medicine and the possible avenues that may be pursued in future research, with topics ranging from sleep medicine science to managing treatment-resistant sleep disorders.

The Royal Society of Medicine has appointed Professor Mary Bishop as its new Director of Learning. Professor Bishop will oversee the charity’s drive to deliver multidisciplinary specialist and general education as well as professional development for healthcare professionals, as set out in its 2021-2026 strategy Better Healthcare for Better Lives.
