Wyndham Lloyd Davies: 1934 to 2023

The Royal Society of Medicine offers condolences to the family and friends of Wyndham Lloyd Davies, renowned urologist and former President of the RSM Urology Section (1991-92), who died in March this year.

Born in 1934 into a family of doctors, Wyndham Lloyd Davies studied medicine at St Thomas’ Hospital in London, qualifying there and training in general surgery at a number of hospitals. Returning to St Thomas’ as a senior registrar, he went on to help develop a world-class teaching and training urology department at the hospital.

Professor Roger Kirby, President of the Royal Society of Medicine, said: “Wyndham Lloyd Davies was an inspirational friend, teacher and surgeon of great character. He looked after his patients with the greatest care and compassion and encouraged a great many of his trainees, including myself, to pursue a career in urology.”
