Education
Our popular COVID-19 series continues on Thursday 29 September, when Professor Paul Harrison will discuss the effects of Covid on the brain. Professor Harrison is Professor of Psychiatry and Chair of the Oxford Neuroscience Committee. He and Professor Henrietta Bowden-Jones OBE, Vice-President-Elect of the RSM and consultant psychiatrist, will discuss and answer questions about the neurological and psychiatric outcomes of Covid.
On Monday 14 November Dame Clare Gerada will present the keynote lecture at Women and medicine: Leadership for the future of the NHS, where many other highly successful women from various medical specialties will discuss their leadership experiences. Together they will discuss the benefits of working well with teams and understanding what others have done to develop their leadership styles.
Our Medicine & Me series re-commences on Wednesday 5 October with Living with Myocarditis. This webinar will focus on accurately recognising the symptoms of myocarditis, advising patients on exercising with the condition, diagnosis and treatment. The programme includes a talk from expert Leslie Cooper on COVID-19, the heart, and the implications of vaccines.

Library
The RSM Library is one of the largest and most up-to-date medical libraries in Europe with a superb array of resources to help you make the most out of your membership, whether in-person or online.
There is a wide range of spaces and facilities for research and study, including comfortable sofas, silent study rooms, printers and photocopiers.
There is a vast collection of resources online too, which can be accessed 24/7, including e-journals, e-books, databases, as well as a catalogue of around 400,00 print items.
We will be running our Introduction to Literature Search tutorials throughout the autumn to help you navigate our medical databases; Medline and Embase. These tutorials show you how to formulate a search question, search the databases with precision, review and save your results. The course duration is one hour with a Q&A included. Tutorials are free for members, and you will receive one CPD point for attendance.
