Two new appointments to the Royal Society of Medicine’s Audit and Risk committee

Mr Nick Gash and Mr Richard Farr have been appointed to the Royal Society of Medicine’s Audit and Risk committee, effective from the 12 July 2021, for a three-year term. Highly experienced in the health service, charity and banking sectors, they will play an important role in the governance and oversight of the RSM.

Mr Gash will replace Mr Stephen Gilbert as Chair of the committee on 1 October 2021. He is currently Non-Executive Director, Chair of the Audit Committee and Deputy Chair at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Previously he was Board Chair at West Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. He chairs the North West London committee for national clinical excellence awards, is a lay member of London School of Anaesthetics and Intensive Care Medicine School Board and is a lay advisor for medical recruitment and ARCP progress review panel for HEE London and South East. Mr Gash is a former CEO of the National Union of Students.

Mr Farr has been appointed as a co-optee on the committee. He has over 30 years’ experience in banking, most recently for Lloyds Commercial Banking where he was National Sector Head for the NHS. He also has experience across the higher education and charity sectors. Mr Farr is currently an audit committee member at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.
